Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k Pro

Over the years, my family and I have been fortunate to visit this place in Poncha Springs, CO. In the background, Mt. Shavano looms and a snowstorm blows over Monarch Pass.

On this day, I was able to do some test shooting on the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k. I was challenging myself in a few ways, limiting myself to shooting handheld and trying to utilize the camera at 6k RAW 50fps. I utilized the Extended Video LUT that comes default with the camera.

There is often so much that you have to remember when you are managing a shoot. Audio conditions, lighting conditions, equipment setup and operation. Sometimes you lose a bit of the playful aspect of filmmaking, because you are so honed in on coordinating a successful shoot. What I liked most about this shoot (aside from my wife and son), is that I was just feeling free and having fun. It is a simple video but it has a lot of personality.
